Thistle & Clover

Thistle & Clover sells clothing and accessories, including belts and jewelry. The clothing at Thistle & Clover, including the Beautiful Curvy Collection, costs less than $50 per piece. A current trend is embroidered or painted denim. Home décor items such as wall hangings and faith-based signs are plentiful at the shop.

The pink and turquoise interior of the store at 325 Main St. is as appealing as the merchandise. It’s a fun, happy place to visit, where the smell of real leather invites guests to come in and stay a bit.

A friendly wag of the tail from Miss Bella, part Boykin spaniel and part chocolate lab, makes the visit even more fun.

“The prettier, softer side of Western wear” is what women will find at Thistle & Clover, a women’s western boutique in downtown Conway.

Thistle & Clover is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – until.

The website is www.thistleandclover.net and the phone number is 843-488-7400. The email address is thistlecloveronmainstreet@gmail.com.

Eddie and Karen Young have owned the business since the summer of 2017, and continue to add new clothing lines, with nothing more than $50, that appeal to teens, their moms and their grandmas.

Young, who has lived in Conway more than four decades, is the daughter of Iva and the late Gary Finkenbiner who owned The Craft Patch, on U.S. 501, years ago.

With a background in sales, Young has the knack for selecting that under $50 merchandise that appeals to today’s woman.

A current trend is denim, including overalls, with embroidered or painted pretties.

L&B brand – that stands for Lucky & Blessed clothing, and Turquoise Haven are some of the lines that offer everything from jeans to long dresses.

The boot and shoe line of Blowfish is on its way, and the Beautiful Curvy Collection caters to women whose beautiful curves are sizes 14 to 3X.

When curvy women come in and see the stylish, colorful, fun merchandise in their sizes, they say, “These are the clothes we want to wear,” Young said.

T-shirts, ball caps and bags with Christian thoughts such as “Jesus loves this hot mess,” and “Why are y’all trying to test the Jesus in me?” are plentiful at Thistle & Clover.

Animal prints are big this year, Young said, and her merchandise reflects that.

The fun, costume western-style jewelry, which is mostly silver and turquoise, is all under $40.

Home décor items such as a metal wall-hanging of prancing horses are also available at the boutique.

It’s not surprising that Thistle & Clover was awarded the Conway Downtown Alive new business award.

Where else can you get a gorgeous outfit with jewelry to match, and get change back from $100?

“If people want a unique shopping experience in a hometown atmosphere, historic Conway would be the place to come for a good day trip,” Young said.
