Do you have a son between the ages of 7 and 12 who wants to play football? Well now is the chance for them to learn how to B.A.L.L. (Be A Loris Lion).

There will be a football camp Aug. 17 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. This camp is free and will demonstrate the techniques and fundamentals that the Loris varsity football team has learned through their practice. The camp will take place at Loris High School’s practice football field and demonstrated by the varsity football team and coaches.

It is open to players ages 7 through 12 that have registered or are planning to register for the upcoming tackle football season with the Loris Recreation Department. Players should wear proper athletic attire. A water refill station will be provided so players need to bring a water bottle.

Also, there is still time for registration for tackle football, cheerleading and soccer with the Loris Recreation Department. Registration began Monday, Aug. 7 and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 19. The office will be open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday during this period the office will be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. - noon for any late registration.

Registration for soccer is open to ages 5-15 and the registration fee is $40. Cheerleading is open to ages 5-12 years old and the fee is also $40. Registration for tackle football is for ages 7-12 and the fee for every football player is $65. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required.
