Myrtle Beach gave the state’s media no reason to doubt it.

As such, the Seahawks finished the regular season in the same spot in the Class 4A rankings that they held in the preseason — as the unanimous No. 1 team. Mickey Wilson’s team heads into this week’s playoff opener with a perfect 9-0 record, with all nine of those victories coming by double digits.

Three other Horry County teams also stayed put for the last week of the polls. Carolina Forest is No. 7 in Class 5A, while Aynor and Green Sea Floyds are each No. 2 in Class 3A and 1A, respectively.

The Trojans have a first-round playoff bye before playing next week in the second round at home. Aynor and Carolina Forest will play at home this week. Carolina Forest will play on Thursday and Aynor will take the field Friday.
