Conway (0-0) at North Myrtle Beach (0-0)

Time | 7:05 p.m.

Broadcasts | WWMB-CW21 (TV); WLFF-FM 106.5 (Conway radio); WRNN-FM, 99.5/nmbchiefs.com (North Myrtle Beach radio/live stream)

Last meeting | North Myrtle Beach 16, Conway 14 (2018)

About the game | All eyes are going to be on the match-up of the week, and specifically in the trenches, where the inexperienced offensive line of North Myrtle Beach will be tested early and often against the powerful and highly touted Conway defensive line. If the Tigers are able to find their rhythm early, it could be an awfully long night on the other side of the ball, where Ramsey Lewis and Cameron Freeman are expected to split reps at quarterback.

Loris (0-0) at St. James

Time | 7:30 p.m.

Broadcast | WLSC-AM 1240

Last meeting | Loris 33, St. James 21

About the game | A year ago, Gage Conner was just taking over as the quarterback of the Loris offense, and at times it showed. While he wasn’t asked to throw a ton outside of pure need, he completed just 31 percent of his passes during the team’s first three games. Week by week from there, he started to find more consistency (save for the ugly result against Dillon). What that means now is more command and more confidence, something the Lions will need plenty of in order to get back to their winning ways.

West Brunswick, N.C. (0-0) at Socastee (0-0)

Time | 7:30 p.m.

Broadcast | WSEA-FM, 100.3

Last meeting | West Brunswick 36, Socastee 29

About the game | Interim coach Marty Jacobs just needs his team to take a few baby steps each week and not worry about the overall results. Against West Brunswick, that means finding a way to fill a whole bunch of defensive holes. Keep in mind that after dropping 36 against Socastee last year, the Trojans never topped 24 points in a game the rest of the season. This is a winnable game for the Braves, but not without some improvement.

Green Sea Floyds (0-0) at West Columbus, N.C. (0-0)

Time | 7:30 p.m.

Broadcast | None

Last meeting | Green Sea Floyds 49, West Columbus 0

About the game | If what we saw last week during the CNB Kickoff Classic - when Green Sea Floyds muscled up Class 5A Socastee to an easy 28-0 win - the Trojans are going to be even more explosive than they were during last season’s state title run. Jaquan Dixon, Bubba Elliott, Anwain Graham and Aaron Graham all put up high-impact, big-yardage plays in the CNB. Expect plenty of that Friday against a West Columbus squad that Green Sea Floyds beat by seven touchdowns last year.

As compiled by My Horry News prep reporter Ian Guerin

  1. Myrtle Beach - Defending state champs may be even better
  2. Green Sea Floyds - Trojans will be heavy favorites in every regular-season game
  3. Carolina Forest - Panthers could flirt with best season in school history
  4. Conway - Tigers primed for a return to winning football after 3-7 campaign
  5. North Myrtle Beach - Lots of question marks for perennial playoff winner
