Carolina Forest has one of the games this week that will get some attention from around the state.

And it may take a win over Myrtle Beach for the Panthers to finally crack into the state rankings.

Coach Marc Morris’ team was left in the receiving votes category of the state media football poll for another week, unable to crack the Top 10 in Class 5A.

In the current rendition of the poll — dating back to 2011 — Carolina Forest has never been ranked.

The Panthers nearly joined four other local teams who are already ranked and held onto their same spots from last week. No. 1 squads Myrtle Beach (Class 4A) and Green Sea Floyds (Class 1A) are atop their respective classifications, while North Myrtle Beach is No. 3 in Class 4A and Aynor is No. 10 in Class 3A.
