It took one week of the regular season, but Horry County now has three Top 5 teams in the state’s media football poll.

The rankings, released Tuesday afternoon and voted on by 14 media members from across South Carolina, now include Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach in the Top 5 in Class 4A — at Nos. 1 and 5, respectively — as well as Green Sea Floyds, which is the No. 2 team in Class A.

Myrtle Beach was a unanimous selection, garnering all 14 first-place votes. Green Sea Floyds earned seven of the first-place votes in Class A but still trails Lamar overall.

Other local teams receiving votes this week are Carolina Forest (Class 5A) and Aynor (Class 3A). Conway, which was receiving votes in the preseason, dropped from that category after last week’s loss to North Myrtle Beach.
