Socastee signees

Four Socastee students sign their letter of intent: (l-r) Jevon Griffin, Mercer Roberts, Marcus Moore and Jonathan Wright to play basketball at the college level.

Socastee High School had four students sign their letters of intent to continue their education and play basketball at the college level.

The students are Jonathan Wright, Mercer Roberts, Marcus Moor and Jevon Griffin.

Wright signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Newberry College. The 5-foot-10 student athlete plans on majoring in criminal justice.

Wright has made 45 out of 50 free throws in his senior season.

Roberts signed her letter of intent to play basketball at Kansas City Kansas Community College in Kansas. She received a full scholarship at the two-year school. Currently, she holds a 3.5 grade point average.

Moore signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Kansas City Community College also. The 6-foot-8 center plans on majoring in engineering.

Griffin signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Mount Aloysius College in Pennsylvania. He received nearly a full scholarship on his academic merits to attend Mount Aloysius.

He plans to major in communications.
