CCU loss

Coastal Carolina once again fell to a Sun Belt Conference team Saturday, continuing the Chanticleers' losing streak.

This week the Chanticleers took on Sun Belt foe Texas State, who had also not won a Sun Belt game this season. Texas State beat the Chanticleers 27-7, giving the Bobcats their first Sun Belt win of the season and ending their six game losing streak, while continuing Coastal’s, who are now 1-7, with the longest losing record in Chanticleer Football history, with seven straight.

Coastal Carolina was held to 183 yards of offense, giving up 123 yards worth of penalties in four quarters. The Chanticleers gave up over 503 yards of offense to the Bobcats. Coastal was stopped on all sides of offense gaining only 34 yards of rushing on 20 carries.

The only points that the Chanticleers amassed were through an interception from junior safety Fitz Wattley.
