The Carolina Forest golf team wrapped up its successful season with a 16th place finish May 18-19 at the Class AAAA golf tournament at Furman University in Greenville.
Carolina Forest finished last Tuesday with a team score of 343 for a team total of 673 in the two-day tournament that was shortened from three days due to inclement weather.
The second round was cancelled with one hole to go after a two-hour delay, said Carolina Forest coach Vil Caroso.
Leading the way for the Panthers was Tanner Smith, who shot 83-81—164. Following Smith at three shots back was Parker Stancil at 84-84—168.
Junior Adam Allen followed with an opening round of 80, but struggled on Tuesday with a second round 88 for a 168 total.
Enzo Farrar shot 84-90—174 and Nico Farrar rounded out the Carolina Forest scoring with 93-91—184.
“I am extremely happy with how hard they fought to get to the States,” Caroso said. “We finished the season at six wins and seven loses, finished second in are Region, sixth in the Lower States, and 16th in the States.”
Enzo Farrar also competed last week in the prestigious North/South all star tournament at Golden Bear Golf Club in Hilton Head Island May 22-24.
Caroso was an assistant coach this year and next year he’ll serve as head coach of the South team.
