We would like to thank everyone for helping us make the 37th Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival a huge success. Despite all the road closures and all the burdens brought on us during Hurricane Matthew, we really appreciated people coming out to support us! We had a beautiful day and we hope it was a great day for you as well.

Congratulations to the winners of the famous Chicken Bog Cooking Contest. Ronald Ward took home the first place win with Douglas Doyle as the runner up and People’s Choice winner. Also, congratulations to Kyle Gore for winning Best in Show and Dock Hardee for taking home Sponsor’s Award from the annual Loris Bog-Off Festival Car Show. Plus, Gage and Nick Conner winning the youth and adult division of the Chicken Clucking Contest. It was a great day had by all.

Some pre-festival events were cancelled due to the storm and has now been rescheduled for the first of November. Game night will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Center for Health & Fitness beginning at 6 p.m. with a spaghetti dinner and bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and are now available.

Movie Night will be held at the Loris Nature Park Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Free to the public. Featured Film is “Zootopia.” Concessions will be available for purchase. Please bring a blanket or chair.
