Well, here we are, September is gone and here comes October. The time is going fast.
Soon the holidays will be upon us and houses will be decorated up. So, now is a good time to read over our rules on lawn decorations.
The board wants everyone to know that the edging pieces for the playground will be Action Play System pieces.
The new fiberglass doors for the tower and chemical room are being fabricated.
New cameras have been installed at the amenity center and pool areas. This includes recording equipment, wiring and various accessories needed.
The violation process is being reviewed, and the property manager was asked to forward all new violations to a designated board member for review before they are mailed out.
Board president Noreen Ciborski and two other board members met with an attorney to discuss issues within the community that may need a legal opinion.
The attorney was asked to research an issue with sidewalk repairs.
The event committee held our end of summer event, and we had a great crowd come out.
There was a big slide for the kids, and this year. Some of the adults even enjoyed going down the slide with the temps in the 90s.
Lots of food was available for everyone and there was a 50/50 drawing, and a raffle for gift baskets.
I would have posted some names, but I had to leave early.
Once again, the ladies of the event committee need to be thanked.
They put on a great celebration for all of the residents and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The first bingo was held on Sept. 27 at the amenity center.
The pool will close for the season on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10 p.m. and will open again in April.
We remind everyone that we are in the planning stages for our sixth Veterans Day event on Nov 11. We will need help in setting up the chairs and placing the flags for this event.
It seems we are having a problem trying to get a speaker this year.
If anyone knows of someone who would like to volunteer to be our speaker, have them email me.
Once again, we remind all residents to take a few minutes and sign up on our website, www.walkerwoodsPOA.com.
This is the way the board puts out information on what’s happening in our community.
If you have changed your email address, let Waccamaw Management know.
