Well, a high-speed chase on Carolina Forest Boulevard resulted in damage being done to the Quinn Road entrance to Walkers Woods. The board was notified by the state police that no one was hurt, and the owner of the vehicle does have insurance.
The damage done is mostly to the plants, and the board wanted us to let everyone know that they are aware of this and nothing can be done until after it is looked at by the insurance company.
I was talking with Dick Fillwock about an underground leak in our sprinkler system on Tuckahoe Road, but Aggie’s Landscaping will take care of it.
The pool has been open now for two weeks, and it looks like a lot of residents are making use of it.
Security started on the weekends, but starting on Memorial Day, security will be seven days a week.
Please remember not to hold the gate open for people entering. Everyone must use his own card to enter the pool.
The security guard will check for cards.
Also, once again the board reminds residents to close the umbrellas when you leave, as they are very expensive to replace.
The speed limit inside Walkers Woods is 15 mph, but some vehicles have been seen traveling at higher speeds.
Also, cars traveling from The Reserve have been seen running the stop sign at the corner of Tuckahoe and Billy K Trail. Please be careful at the Tuckahoe Road entrance.
Once again, our event committee has been busy.
There was a trivia night at the amenity center with a very good crowd of 30-35 people. All said it was a fun night.
The ladies went to the beach for a lunch and to sit in the sand and get some tan.
Bingo will be on May 30 at the amenity center at 7 p.m. and all residents are invited.
There was discussion about having an adult happy hour at the amenity center on June 7, and the time will be determined. Attendees will be asked to bring their own appetizers and drinks.
Here is something everyone is looking forward to: Exercise at the pool will begin the first Tuesday in June at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to join in the fun, and please bring a noodle with you.
Once again, we remind all residents to take a few minutes and sign up on our website, www.walkerwoodsPOA.com. This is the way the board puts out information on what’s happening in our community.
