This may be a little short this week because there’s not much going on here at Walkers Woods.
We seem to have made it through the storm without much damage done, but, it looks like we may have another one coming in, so keep everything secured.
The pool was closed for a few days until the hurricane passed, but is now open once again.
We thank Noreen Ciborski and her husband for taking down our flag before the storm hit.
There seems to be some confusion about joining our website, so we remind everyone that when you register for the site, you need to list if you are a homeowner or renter.
We do go into the Horry County website and check the homeowner’s name. This is because there are some pages on the website that only homeowners have access to, and if you are not listed as a homeowner, your request will be turned down.
I hoped we wouldn’t have to mention this again, but it seems some residents just don’t realize that the speed limit inside Walkers Woods is 15 mph.
We continue to see people driving 30 mph or more. Please slow down. We have young children and we don’t want them hurt. Bingo is starting up again on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the amenity center at 7 pm.
Don’t forget the end-of-summer-bash on Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon. There will be an inflatable water slide, 50/50 drawing and food for all residents of Walkers Woods.
So, come on out and let’s all enjoy ourselves and close out the pool season. The pool will close for the season on Oct. 1.
With fall coming, we remind everyone to check out our rules about decorations.
Don’t forget our Salute to Veterans on Nov. 11 at the Tuckahoe Road entrance.
This year, the last service coin will be handed out, which is for the U.S. Coast Guard.
Since we started this six years ago, we have given out one coin for each branch of the service to all veterans who attend.
We are hoping to have the NJROTC and the choir from Carolina Forest High School present, so mark your calendar and plan to attend this great event.
Once again, we remind all residents to take a few minutes and sign up on our website, www.walkerwoodsPOA.com. This is the way the board puts out information about what’s happening in our community.
If you have changed your email address, let Waccamaw Management know.
