Thursday, Oct. 10 from 1-4 p.m. is the Card-creating/scrapbooking Club chaired by Diane Colarik.

The social committee is supporting local charity Fostering Hope, Inc. in Conway this year. The charity’s mission is to provide basic necessities to children in crisis situations. School supplies and footwear are still needed items this month.

Thursday, Oct. 17, the Architectural Review Board meets at 9 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 17, the ladies’ luncheon will be held at Villa Tuscanna at 97 U.S. 17 North in North Myrtle Beach. The restaurant will especially open for this event.

Vivacious hostess will be Debbie Bonner. The $25 cost includes entree, non-alcoholic beverage, tax, gratuity and a mini-cannoli for dessert.

Saturday, Oct. 19 is Plantation Lakes’ annual children’s Halloween party at the clubhouse. Board member Courtney Bergman will chair this event with Kelly Gravino and Sara Weaver. Gino’s will provide pizza. Details will follow.

Thursday, Oct. 19, the ad hoc light pole committee monthly meeting is at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, the covenants committee meets at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 24, the lake committee meets at 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 25 from 7-10 p.m. is Plantation Lakes’ annual adult Halloween happy hour at the clubhouse. Social committee vice president Kathy Haight, Debbie Bonner, Diane Colarik, Gerry Franklin and Janet Howard will host this event.

Wear your costume, as there will be a costume parade and prizes. Stan Vitale will provide wonderful keyboard entertainment.

The website still lists the finance committee as meeting on Thursday, Oct. 31, Halloween night.

They usually meet at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. is Plantation Lakes’ amazing annual Holiday Boutique at the clubhouse at 8000 Juxa Drive Over 47 vendors will sell unique home décor, crocheted items, holiday crafts and bows, clothing, custom drink ware, homemade soaps, candles, jewelry and more.

The social committee will sell the extremely popular gift baskets at the silent auction again this year. More donated gift baskets are still needed. Some creative basket ideas are beach day supplies, kitchen items, chocolate, jewelry, nail care, Myrtle Beach souvenirs, car wash & wax supplies or mystery gift cards from various stores.

Friday night, Sept. 20, the Forever Doo Wop group performed a concert at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church at 503 37th Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach that was enjoyed by many.

Carolina Forest Recreation Center 2019 fitness calendar presents Zumba, yoga, sculpt express, burn n’ build, barre above and line dancing classes.

Saturday -Sunday Oct. 5-6 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sons and Daughters of Italy present Festal Italiana at 4017 Deville St. in The Market Common. Admission is $2 for adults.

There will be Italian food, drinks, entertainment, arts and crafts vendors and a car show by the Corvette Club.

Oct. 8, 15 and 22 from 5-8 p.m. weather providing, The Market Common is providing complimentary hayrides. Wagon boarding is in front of Uncommon Chocolatier at the corner of Reed and Deville streets across from Grand 14 Theater.

A balloon artist will create balloon art while waiting.

Friday, Oct. 11 from 4-9 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. is Oktoberfest at 509 Farrow Parkway in Grand Park at The Market Common.

They will have German food, live music, a beer garden, pumpkin patch, inflatables and over 60 vendors.

Saturday, Oct. 12, the group meets at Carolina Forest Recreation Center at 8 a.m. to collect litter on Carolina Forest roads.

Saturday, Oct. 12, Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers football team plays Georgia State Panthers at Brooks Stadium, 540 University Blvd., in Conway. Time is undecided.

Saturday-Sunday Oct. 12-13 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. is the Little River Shrimp Fest riverfront at 4468 Minneola Ave. with 100 vendors and two live music stages.

Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m., the Carolina Forest Civic Association’s meets at Carolina Forest Recreation Center.
