Plantation Lakes’ extremely popular water aerobics classes have returned, and are held every Monday – Friday at 8:45 a.m. These free, weather-permitting fun classes are for Plantation Lakes residents only. Resident hosts must accompany their guests.

Registration is unnecessary. Bring noodles and water weights. Diane’s contact information is on the website, www.plmbpoa.com under “latest messages.”

Check that all doors of vehicles parked in your driveway and garage doors are locked. There has been recent vehicle theft, vehicle content burglary and home burglary in Plantation Lakes.

During the May 15 Civic Association meeting, Rich Galante and Rich Carlson stated many important reasons for a Plantation Lakes traffic light.

The social committee held a special open house Tuesday night, May 21. Members brought neighbor friends with them to this meeting to see if they would be interested in joining the social committee. It was great having new neighbors attend and present ideas.

It was a 95-degree sunny day for Plantation Lakes’ annual pool party on Saturday afternoon, May 25. Debbie Bonner did a wonderful job of chairing this social committee-hosted event. Plantation Lakes resident and Gino’s Real New York Pizza at Carolina Forest owner Brian Wunderlich catered delicious pizzas and subs. Debbie provided hot dogs, sauerkraut, chicken roll-ups, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and sheet cakes for dessert. She also purchased some extra fans for the large picnic room.

Other social committee ladies brought fresh fruit and bite size desserts for everyone to enjoy. DJ Buff entertained everyone with great music.

Thank you very much to the many social committee ladies and their husbands who helped plan, set up, serve, wash dishes and clean up after this huge event.

Saturday, June 1, Plantation Lakes’ annual bass fishing tournament is from 6:30 - 11 a.m. Late entry cost is $50 on June 1. Fish must be alive at weigh-in. Bring a non-perishable food or hygiene product donation for Help4Kids Backpack Buddies.

June 6 and 20, the Architectural Review Board meets at 9 a.m.

Thursday, June 6, the board of directors meets at 6:30 p.m. Residents may ask questions between 6:30 - 7 p.m.

Friday night, June 7 at 6 p.m., the board of directors’ member Courtney Bergman is chairing Kick-off to Summer, a free family fun event.

EZ Cheesy, Benito’s, Six is a Ness and Mr. Softee are the food trucks. “How to Train Your Dragon 3” is the movie. Stevie Mac will provide music and Dream Weaver will provide face painting, a magician and balloons. If it rains, the event will continue inside the clubhouse.

Thursday, June 13, the Card-creating/scrapbooking Club chaired by Diane Colarik meets from 1-4 p.m.

Tuesday, June 18, the social committee meets at 7 p.m. Plantation Lakes ladies age 18 and older are encouraged to join and help plan exciting community events. Contact president Leslie at lesliewmorgan@gmail.com with questions.

Thursday, June 20, the ladies luncheon is at Wild Wing Plantation Clubhouse at 1000 Wild Wing Blvd. in Conway. Hostesses will be Donna Rosenberry and Virginia Godwin. The $20 cash cost includes entrée, coffee or tea, dessert, tax and gratuity and will be collected at the door. Entrée selections include pasta primavera with grilled chicken, shrimp or salmon; chicken salad plate; cheeseburger; dinner salad. The second and third selections include potato salad or fresh fruit.

Many red foxes have appeared at Plantation Lakes homes. Loud noise scares them away, www.humanesociety.org states.

They prey on poultry, rabbits and rodents, not humans, dogs or cats.
