Betsy Fay

I hope everyone is starting to enjoy the summer.

Our new pool seems to be busy with lots of new friendships being made. The board asks that you take trash that you produce at the pool home with you. We don’t have anyone assigned to take care of trash, so they hope homeowners will just take care of their own and keep the pool area clean.

We have a man who comes every day to check the pool, including cleaning and chemicals, but not trash.

The front trees along the entrance were trimmed last week.

In July, we will start organizing for National Night Out in August. We will ask homeowners to bring a salad or side dish to the event. The board will provide hot dogs and water/juice. BYOB for adult beverages, but no glass.

The board and Premier Management have recently done a drive-through of the neighborhood to make sure all homeowners are following the covenants. If there is an issue, you will receive a letter from Premier on what needs to be taken care of.

The next bag of books sale will be July 17 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the Carolina Forest Library. The sale for July will be on all adult books - buy one get one free - starting July 3.

The Friends of Carolina Forest Library will have its monthly meeting on July 1 at 6 p.m. in the library meeting room. All are welcome to attend.

If you wish to join this group, it is a lifetime membership of $10 and you must apply to Horry County to be a volunteer.

We have a lot of fun in this group and we are lucky to work with a great library staff.

You only need a couple of hours per week to help out.

The Summer Quest reading program is in full swing with lots of activities for all ages. Stop by and check out the summer calendar at the library.

The next Beautify Carolina Forest litter pick up is July 12-14.

The widening of Carolina Forest Boulevard has begun.

Please pay attention while driving, and slow down in construction zones.

The road will be under construction for the next 700 days, so we will all need to be patient.

Our sympathy to Herman Woods on the loss of his wife, Joan. He is a neighbor from Covington East.

Happy birthday to Kara Rosch July 1 and Dan Cassidy July 3.

Look forward to hearing the news of the neighborhood. Email me at
