CONWAY—Shirley H. Thorpe, 68, passed away May 30.

Shirley was born in Conway, a daughter of the late John Duffy and Olene Bellamy Thompkins.

She was a very giving person, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law.

Shirley had a very close relationship with her sisters.

She was a hairdresser for 29 years and worked at AVX for 19 years.

She had a good sense of humor, loved to have fun, was an all around good person and lived life to the fullest.

Shirley was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by brother Danny Thompkins.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Tommy Thorpe who was the love of her life; daughter Tara Hatoway (Scott) of Conway; grandchildren Ashley Hatoway Ward (Justin) and Cody Hatoway, all of Conway; great-grandchildren Blakely Ward and Mayson Ward; sisters Brenda Stalvey (Ronald) and Monica Thompkins, both of Conway; stepmother Kate Thompkins and many other family and friends.

Funeral services were held June 2 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Daniels and Pastor Lawrence Watson officiating. Burial ed in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
