MYRTLE BEACH—Jesse Duke Gandee, 6 days old, passed away Sept. 3 in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

He is the son of Matthew J. Gandee and Anna M. Gandee.

Like a shooting star, his soul shined brightly, touching so many lives, but that brightness was brief. He was loved by all.

Against the many earthly struggles he faced inside his little body, his fighting spirit made a deep impression on family, friends, and his caregivers.

Our shooting star went back, again, to now shine in the heavens and to be with God.

He is survived by his parents Matthew and Anna Gandee; aunt Loran Patton; grandparents Lowary and Anita Patton, and Michael and Heather Gandee ; great-grandparents Gary and Rose Mary Cline, and Glenn and Norma Mann; “uncle” Michael Kellar as well as several great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

No service is scheduled at this time.

He is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach.
