MURRELLS INLET—James Clifford Rose, 78, died Aug. 11 at his residence.

Born in Oneco, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Clifford and Agnes Rose.

Mr. Rose was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Carol Rose.

Survivors include life partner Karen Gentile of Murrells Inlet; daughter Kerry Kneeland and husband Ronald of Murrells Inlet; grandchildren Tyler James Brousseau and Ashley Marie Brousseau and great-grandchildren James and Hope Brousseau, all of Connecticut and extended family Earnest Wright, Christy and Rob Huxley and John Gentile, all of North Carolina.

A memorial service was held Aug. 18 at Woodlake Village Clubhouse".
