MYRTLE BEACH—Ina Parsons Foster, 87, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed on to her eternal resting place July 16 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach.
She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Wilkes County, daughter of the late Walter and Annie Hutchins Parsons.
She is survived by daughter Terry Brewer and husband Jack; grandchildren Kristen Burn and husband Shaun, Ryan Murray and Garrett Murray and wife Ashleyanne; great-grandchildren Landon Burn, Brayden Burn, Khloe Burn, and Addison Murray and sister Hazel Mayes.
She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She was preceded in death by husband Troy C. Foster Jr; sisters Estelle Parsons, Ada Gambill and Alma Staley and brother Jay Parsons.
“Nana” took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and doing crafts.
She was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church.
She began working as a telephone operator and later became a cosmetologist, delighting in her work and the many relationships that she built during her career.
She will always be remembered for her kindness and love of her family and friends. She led by example. There was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle.
She was a strong, determined, fiercely independent woman. She left a legacy of a strong work ethic and compassion for others. Many will remember her kind heart, generous spirit and strong faith.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Wilkesboro Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Visitation will follow the service.
