Funeral services for Frankie R. Alford, 69, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in First United Methodist Church in Conway with the Rev. Kyle Randle officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends in the First United Methodist Church Commons from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Alford passed away Aug. 28.

He was born in Conway, a son of the late Dewey Reaves and Mattie Mae Richardson Alford. Alford was employed by the Piggly Wiggly and A & P grocery stores and Palmetto Chevrolet during high school and as a young adult. Prior to retirement, he was employed by UPS for 37 years where he delivered packages in the Pawley's Island area for many years as well as other parts of Horry and Georgetown counties. In recent years, Mr. Alford attended Jamestown Baptist Church for many years and more recently attended First United Methodist Church in Conway.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Amanda K. Alford; two brothers, Thomas Alford and LeGrand Alford; and two sisters, Virginia Reed and Ellen Allen.

Surviving are: one daughter, Amanda A. Roof and husband Justin; one son, Clayton R. Alford; and four grandchildren, Amanda Gray Alford, Anna Claire Roof, Dylan Roof, and Andrew Roof.
