CONWAY—Dorothy Jackson Ricks, 91, widow of Buck Grier Ricks, passed away Sept. 7 at Pruitt Health Center in Conway.

Born in the rural Dillon County community of Little Rock, Mrs. Ricks was the youngest of six siblings born to the late Oscar Lloyd Jackson and Minnie Brumbles Jackson.

 Mrs. Ricks attended Columbia College and graduated from Draughn’s Business School. She enjoyed a long career with the South Carolina Employment Security Commission, retiring as manager of the Myrtle Beach office. In her retirement, Mrs. Ricks enjoyed traveling, anything outdoors, volunteering at Conway Medical Center and was very involved in the Iris Garden Club of Conway.

 Survivors include daughter Rebecca Ricks Floyd (Robert M. Floyd Jr.); son Buck Grier Ricks Jr.; grandsons Robert M. Floyd III (America) and Charles Ricks Floyd and great-grandchildren Robert M. Floyd IV and Sarah P. Floyd.

 Funeral services were held Sept. 9 at First Baptist Church of Conway where she has been a member since 1946.

The  Rev. Rocky Taylor officiated. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
