Beverly Cartee Waters, age 76, was promoted to glory on May 20 from Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital, with her family by her side.

Born in Royston, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Wille O. and Lillie Mae (Fleming) Cartee.

Beverly was a minister at The Salvation Army where for 43 years as an active officer, she touched many lives.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was predeceased by daughter Angela Waters and sister, Dorothy Yeargin.

Surviving Beverly is her husband of 52 years, Michael; daughter Michelle Waters Leonard (Jerry); sisters Thelma Rudd and Diane Calhoun and brothers Dean Cartee, George Cartee and Ronnie Cartee.

Memorial contributions may be made in Beverly’s name to either the Salvation Army World Services, www.sawso.org/ or your local corps.

Memorial services were held May 24 at The Salvation Army in Conway.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
