Horry County police identified a suspect in connection to the murder of a 29-year-old man last week.

The man who was killed was identified as Matthew Frazier from Latta, Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy said in a news release.

Officials said no charges will be filed in the case because the suspect died and that there is no threat to the community. The Horry County Police Department has not released the suspect's name.

Police were on scene in the 1200 block of Bucksport Road on Feb. 14 investigating Frazier's death.

A police report said a male had been shot and was deceased. An officer found he had no pulse.

The HCPD tweeted community members would see police vehicles and detectives in the area and that traffic on Bucksport Road might be slowed.
