A second person has died following a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on S.C. 9, authorities said.

Lance Cpl. Matt Southern with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. near Camp Swamp Road.

A 2011 Kia Sorento attempting to turn left from Camp Swamp Road on to S.C. 9 was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north on S.C. 9.

The driver of the Kia, who was identified as Raymond McLain, 82, of Loris, suffered injuries and was airlifted to Grand Strand Medical Center where he died Friday morning from multiple trauma, Fowler said.

The driver of the Chevrolet was also injured and was taken to McLeod Loris Hospital.
