The Horry County Government and Justice Building was cleared Monday afternoon around 5 p.m. after a bomb threat earlier that afternoon closed the offices and sent employees home for the rest of the day.
According to an Horry County Sheriff’s Office report, an Horry County Government employee in the building received a phone call Monday with an apparent threat.
The caller stated that an employee was “planning on setting off a bomb there today.”
The HCSO was notified and an investigation was initiated.
The criminal investigation is still ongoing, according to the report.
The HCSO was assisted by Horry County Police Department and the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
