A 57-year-old woman drowned at a Myrtle Beach hotel, authorities said.

Paula Egleston was discovered in a hot tub at the Patricia Grand hotel at 2710 North Ocean Blvd. around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said in a news release.

Egleston, from the Greensboro, North Carolina, area was pulled from the water but could not be revived.

According to a police report, a witness notified authorities after walking on her balcony and seeing someone face down in the hot tub. 

CPR was being performed by hotel security upon officers' arrival. Police assisted in performing CPR until emergency medical workers arrived.
