A 54-year-old motorcyclist died in a three-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in Horry County, authorities said.
Teresa McCord from Chesapeake, Virginia, was identified as the deceased, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden in a news release.
The wreck happened around 5 p.m. on U.S. 501 at the Savannah Bluff Road intersection, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
A southbound Harley-Davidson driven by McCord attempted to go left and collided with a Honda Accord.
The motorcycle also struck a northbound FedEx tractor-trailer.
McCord, who was wearing a helmet, was killed as a result of the wreck.
The person who was driving the Accord was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
No charges are expected to be filed in the case because the motorcycle was determined to be the at-fault vehicle, Collins said.
At 5:07 p.m., #HCFR joined SCHP in the area of 1231 E. Highway 501 for a motorcycle accident w/ 2 other vehicles. 1 person was killed with no other serious injuries. 501 Conway-bound will be closed for a little while.
