A shooting in downtown Myrtle Beach sent one person to the hospital Sunday night, authorities said.
Around 8:30 p.m., police received a report of shots fired in the area of Chester Street and 7th Avenue North, said Cpl. Thomas Vest of the Myrtle Beach Police Department. Officers found an injured person at the scene and transported that individual to a local hospital. Police also detained a suspect in the shooting. No information about the victim or the suspect has been released.
Vest said police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the first shooting in the city over the holiday weekend.
“It’s too early for me to tie down any of that,” he said.
