A man who authorities said barricaded himself inside a Conway home Tuesday afternoon and was removed from the residence by police faces multiple charges.
The Conway Police Department responded to a home in the 1600 block of Sessions Street, according to an incident report.
The agency tweeted shortly before 5:15 p.m. Tuesday that officers were on scene. Just over an hour later, a tweet said the person had been removed from the home. No injuries were reported. Authorities had asked community members to avoid Sessions Street between 16th and 17th avenues.
The suspect, 28-year-old Gregory Antonio McFadden, faces charges of first-degree assault and battery, kidnapping and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person. He was released from jail Wednesday afternoon, according to online jail records. Bond was set at $25,000.
Before the standoff, McFadden got into an argument with his mother over a set of keys at the home, according to arrest warrants.
The warrants state that during a struggle over the keys the victim fell.
McFadden is accused of holding her down while he was armed with a knife and threatening to cut her if she did not give him the keys.
Police also suspect him of pointing a gun at her and threatening to shoot her if she did not give him the keys.
