The city of North Myrtle Beach issued a boil water advisory Tuesday afternoon for part of Cherry Grove following a water line break that morning. The advisory was discontinued shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The city said the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental control required the advisory to be issued for the affected areas of Ye Olde Kings Highway from 20th Ave north to 24th Ave north and on 24th to Hill Street and adjacent areas.
City spokesman Pat Dowling said that the advisory was precautionary in case there was any back flow of water when the lines were depressurized following a water line break Tuesday morning. The line was repaired that afternoon.
On Wednesday, when test results from water samples came back clean, the advisory was canceled.
