North Myrtle Beach police on Monday arrested a man in connection with the death of a man who succumbed to a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Shortly before noon on Sunday, police responded to the intersection of 38th Avenue North and Smith Street where they found a man laying in the road who had been shot and mortally wounded, according to a statement from the city.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Chris Dontell identified the victim as Tyler Schaeffer, 32, of North Myrtle Beach.

Officers were able to obtain a photo of the shooting suspect from surveillance cameras, and on Monday arrested Sebastian Kaisk, 18, near 27th Avenue South in North Myrtle.

The city says it's obtaining a warrant charging Kaisk with murder and will release a full incident report when available.
