Myrtle Beach International Airport

Investigators found no hazardous materials on a plane that made an emergency landing at Myrtle Beach International Airport Thursday night after seven to 10 passengers complained about medical issues, authorities said.

A plane traveling from Laguardia Airport in New York to Fort Lauderdale was carrying 220 passengers when it was diverted to Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Fire Department tweeted late Thursday.

Police and fire crews from both the city and Horry County responded.

By 11:30 p.m., officials determined there were no hazardous materials on the plane, according to a tweet from the MBFD. All passengers who felt sick were taken to area hospitals.

Crews were demobilizing around midnight.
