Loris Garden Club

Members of the Loris Garden Club recently gathered at the Heniford Memorial Park/Blue Star Marker located at the junction of Walnut and East Main Street for their gall work day. This site is one of several civic projects started and maintained by the Club. Members brought work tools and pruned bushes, pulled weeds, and cleared the rea of debris and trash. Each year the club purchases and plants yellow mums for this area to present a welcoming site to visitors traveling Hwy. 9E Business to attend the Loris Bog Off. Yellow mums are also placed in the planter at the Loris Library.

Additional work days are being scheduled for the Nature Park section maintained by Loris Garden Club and the Thelma Suggs Memorial site on Hwy. 9W.

Members participating were Dorothy and Clyde Richardson, Martha Dorman, David Stoudenmire, Louise McQueen, Sherry Quick, Rosanne and Carl Claytor, Wanda Cox, Betty Livingston, and Ruth Ann Jones.
