Horry County is instituting a curfew for unincorporated areas in response to Hurricane Dorian, according to a news release from the county's emergency management department.
Officials said the curfew is in place from 7 p.m. tonight to 7 a.m. tomorrow to protect lives and property.
"Transit during the curfew will be prohibited, with the exception of emergencies," the release said. "Please stay off the roads until conditions are safe."
Additionally, Horry County Council approved the transfer of disaster reserve funds from fiscal year 2019 to provide immediate resources for recovery efforts in the aftermath of the storm, the release said.
