EMS Ambulance
A 31-year-old man whose body was found in a pond behind a Carolina Forest grocery store died from drowning, according to a news release from the Horry County Coroner's Office.

However, officials said the death cannot be attributed to Hurricane Florence because the man perished before the storm.

Anes Koko of Antioch, Tennessee, was identified as the victim by Horry County Deputy Coroner Chris Dontell.

The Horry County Police Department is investigating the circumstances of Koko's death, though there is no evidence of foul play, according to the release.

Koko's body was discovered Saturday morning in a pond near the Carolina Forest Publix, officials said.
