Fishers of men tee it up for charity

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew Fishers of Men Chapter at St. Paul’s Church will sponsor its fourth annual Don Boucher Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday at the Hackler Golf Course at Coastal Carolina University.

Entry fee is $65 per player or $260 per four-person team. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tee-off is at 8:30 a.m.

Lunch will be provided after the tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top two teams, and hole-in-one and longest drive contests are available for men and women. The hole-in-one prize is a new truck or boat worth up to $40,000. Participants may register online in the members section at www.stpaulsconway.org. Conway Christian hosts soccer camp

Conway Christian School will host a soccer camp for students in grades 5-12 July 18-21 from 8 a.m.-noon. Cost is $65 per camper and includes a camp t-shirt and daily games, drills and skill work. There is a limit of 40 campers and participants must sign a waiver. Participants are encouraged to ear sunscreen, shin guards, soccer cleats, shorts and t-shirts and bring a water bottle. SOS sponsors golf tournament

The SOS Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 12 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Possum Trot Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach. There will be lots of games, activities and food for children and parents. SOS Healthcare’s programs support individuals with autism and related disabilities.

Professionals to visit Grand Strand

A number of former professional athletes will be at The Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach youth baseball and softball complex this summer as part of the celebrity ambassador series lineup for the 2016 tournament season. Legendary ambassadors include National Baseball Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr., Andre Dawson and Fergie Jenkins, as well as USA Olympic Gold Medalist Jennie Finch, who will headline two weeks of girls’ fast-pitch softball tournaments at the facility.

The 2016 Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach tournament ambassador series will offer weeklong participants the opportunity to meet former Major Leaguers and hear stories and life lessons based on their professional experiences. Big league notables slated to make an appearance include: Saturday, Summer Slam Tournament, Cal Ripken Jr.; June 26, Beach Blast Tournament, Phil Niekro; July 3, Tidal Wave Tournament, Andre Dawson; July 10, Surf’s Up Tournament, Brett Saberhagen; July 17, Big Kahuna Tournament, Fergie Jenkins; July 24, Ocean Breeze Tournament, Reggie Sanders; July 31, Wave Rider Tournament, Bobby Richardson; and Aug. 7, Hang Ten Tournament, Tommy John.

Also, the Summer Slam (June 19) and Ocean Breeze (July 24) tournaments will feature former University of Arizona and Team USA fast-pitch softball legend Jennie Finch.
