One person was detained after an apparent stabbing overnight in Myrtle Beach, authorities said.
Officers responded to a hotel in the 100 block of North Ocean Boulevard around 12:15 a.m. Friday after reports of a fight, according to Cpl. Tom Vest with the Myrtle Beach Police Department and an incident report.
Police found one person with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
The victim said he and a friend had been watching an NFL game on TV in a room when they got into an argument because the suspect thought he ate his food, the report said.
He said the two wrestled for a bit, but then stopped. The victim said he went outside to smoke a cigarette and that the suspect came out the room holding a pocket knife. He said the suspect stabbed him and said, "You're lucky I don't kill you" before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel.
