A 29-year-old man whose apprehension caused the brief closure of an Horry County intersection was charged after allegedly assaulting one person with a knife and punching another.
Jeffrey Samuel Price has been charged with attempted murder and third-degree assault and battery, according to online jail records.
Horry County Government spokeswoman Kelly Moore said police's apprehension of Price caused state highways 22 and 19 to be briefly closed Saturday morning.
Police responded to a stabbing call at a home Friday night, according to an incident report.
Authorities found a female victim in a bathroom with several lacerations on her face, arms and upper torso. When an officer asked her what caused the suspect to assault her, she said she had no idea and that he just attacked her with a knife, the report said.
As an officer rendered aid to her, he discovered the broken blade of a steak knife blade tangled in her hair, the report said.
Police also found a male victim with blood running down the left side of his face and a small gash on his chest. He told police the suspect had punched him in the side of the head and in the chest as he attempted to stop the suspect from leaving the scene, according to the report.
Three people were asleep in the home during the incident.
The two victims were taken to the hospital.
