police lights 4

Four people who fled a stolen car Friday night in Horry County were arrested.

Around 7:30 p.m., an Horry County Police Department officer was working in the U.S. 501 area when he heard an alert for a stolen car, according to a news release.

The officer located the car and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

Those inside the car tried to run away and were pursued.

Shortly after, those in the car went to the Clear Pond subdivision in Carolina Forest located off of Garner Lacy Road.

They ditched the car near the community’s amenities center before running into the woods nearby, the release said.

Three suspects were quickly apprehended.

Around midnight, a fourth suspect was found hiding in a home under construction in the neighborhood.

Devyon Brown, Jutwa Hollingsworth, Santos Linares-Castro, and Daquan Wright have all been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle valued at $5,000 or more.

Hollingsworth has also been charged with financial transaction card fraud of more than $500 in a six-month period. Linares-Castro faces a charged of failure to stop for blue lights.

In the release, the HCPD thanked Clear Pond community members for their assistance.
