A 37-year-old woman was killed in a car wreck near Loris Saturday morning, authorities said.

Amanda Tyler of the Loris area died at the scene from injuries she sustained in the wreck, Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said in a news release.

Just before noon, a 2008 Mazda CX-9 was heading north on S.C. 19 when the car went off the right side of the road near Cane Branch Road and struck a ditch, Trooper Tyler Tidwell with the S.C. Highway Patrol said.

The car overturned and ejected the driver, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, Tidwell said.

The wreck remains under investigation.
