Authorities continue to investigate after J. Reuben Long Detention Center received a bomb threat Monday night, officials said.

Emergency personnel were called to the jail to investigate and set up a perimeter, Horry County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Brooke Holden said.

‪Community members were asked to avoid the area. ‬

The case remains under investigation by the Horry County Police Department. No arrests had been made in connection with the threat at the time of this report, HCPD spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov said.
