Authorities responded to a Walmart in Garden City Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious package was reported.

The item was identified as a package containing drugs, according to the Horry County Police Department Twitter page. A hazmat and bomb team determined there is no risk to the public.

Traffic in the area of the store located off of U.S. 17 Business might be impacted, the HCPD said. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

Emergency personnel were working to clear the scene as of around 5:30 p.m.
