A 43-year-old motorcyclist died after a two-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday morning in Horry County, authorities said.

Anggelos Georgakopoulos died at a local hospital from injuries he sustained in the crash. He was originally from the Bronx in New York City, but was living in the Myrtle Beach area at the time of the wreck.

Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 11:50 a.m.

A 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading north on S.C. 707 when a 2019 Jeep attempted to make a left turn onto that highway from Laurel Woods Drive and the two vehicles collided.

Georgakopoulos, the motorcyclist, was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Jeep was not hurt in the crash.

The wreck remains under investigation.
