The City of Conway has been hinting for days on social media that there would be a pop-up splash pad coming soon to help kids of all ages beat the heat.

Last night they finally revealed it would be on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Laurel Street this morning from 10-11 a.m.

Sprinklers sprayed from the top of the Planning Department building, while Conway Fire Department shot water over the crowd with one of their rigs.

City Administrator Adam Emrick said they were hoping to have at least 30 people, but they easily surpassed that goal.

Water balloons went quickly and kept on coming, as Emrick said the city had 11,000 water balloons prepared for the fun.

The city hopes that with this morning's success, more pop-ups will be planned throughout the summer.
