Come celebrate America's independence with fun, food and of course fireworks all along the Grand Strand this weekend. 

July 4th Day Activities:

7:30am: Independence Day 8K at Market Common. The race begins at 7:30am, you must be registered at the start line by Valor Park by 7:20am. The overall winners of the male and female division will win a free pair of running shoes from Black Dog Running. 

10:00am 51st Annual Pawleys Island July 4th Parade. The Fourth of July Parade on Pawleys Island, South Carolina is a fun community event. Visitors and locals alike parade down the Island in anything that becomes a makeshift float – be it a boat, car, or flatbed truck! All of which are decorated in true red, white, and blue ~ true patriotic fashion! The Pawleys Island Parade is a fun, family tradition on the 4th. To enter a float in the parade, please stop by the Town Hall, 321 Myrtle Avenue, Pawleys Island to fill out an application. The cost to enter is $15 in advance, the day of the parade it is $20. Applications will be available Mondays – Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. until the day of the parade.

1:00pm South Carolina's Salute from the Shore is proud to announce that a flyover of F-16s from the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, as well as other military aircraft will take place at 1:00pm, beginning in Cherry Grove and concluding around 1:30pm in Bluffton. Participants on the beaches are strongly urged to organize patriotic displays in groups, big and small, and to share their tributes online for our armed forces around the world to see.

2:00pm 6th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest. Participants must be 18 years or older, are invited to “have their cake and eat it too” during this cupcake eating marathon. The winner will be crowned, “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach. Prize packages include a trophy, medal, $500 cash and tickets to attractions, restaurants and stores as well as an oceanfront vacation package, all valued close to $1500. This event is being held at the "Croissants at The Grande Dunes" 8014 N. Kings Highway Myrtle Beach. 

2:00pm Garden City Annual Golf Cart Parade. The annual parade is a unique and fun way to celebrate Independence Day. Golf Carts will line up behind Willard's Fireworks at 1:00pm, the parade will begin promptly at 2:00pm.
