The Early Myrtle Beach & The War Years Car Phone Tour will be held at 11 AM, each Monday through Saturday from May 18th - 30th, 2020. Ticket holders will be called on the day of their tour at 11 AM. They and their passengers may meet the tour in their car (where they will remain throughout the 90-minute tour for the purpose of social distancing) at the four historic locations in Myrtle Beach that will be emailed to them. Or they may enjoy the audio portion of the tour with whomever is with them wherever they take the calls within the United States. A separate conference call will be placed from each of the four locations that will tell the story of Myrtle Beach’s earliest years and the time during WWII with U-boat threats off the coast and the arrival of German POWs.

Enjoy this experience from the safety of your home with those close to you. Or join the tour at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach from the safety of your car with your fellow passengers. You will remain in your car throughout the 90-minute tour. Please park more than six feet away from others if your windows are open or your top is down.

For the tour audio, all you need is a phone within the United States that has a US phone number. Please provide the number to be used for the tour by emailing it to Include the ticket buyer's name, the name of the call recipient if it is different from the ticket buyer's, and the date and time of the tour. A phone that can be heard through the stereo speakers of the car is ideal. A phone that has a mute option is preferred.

To drive the tour route, you will need a car or similar vehicle. Due to the timing and the route of the tour, golf carts, mopeds, electric bikes or any non-motorized means of transportation won’t be appropriate.

This tour is actually four different experiences in one. You can meet the narrator’s car at one, some or none of the four historic locations. Each of the four conference calls will be placed when the narrator has reached each stop and has allowed those driving the route a reasonable amount of time to arrive. It is up to each driver to adhere to all laws of the road. While addresses for each stop and optional directions will be provided, the actual driving between stops is NOT part of the experience. There will be no calls between stops. Please drive safely as you go to each stop on your own. If you opt not to go to a stop, you will still receive your call when the others have arrived there.

Your $25 ticket grants you, and whomever can hear your phone, access to the conference call made of up of five guests’ phones and the narrator’s. If you would like to buy this experience as a gift for someone in the Myrtle Beach area or elsewhere in the United States, a personalized Gift Certificate can be emailed to you for you to send to the recipient(s). Buy multiple tickets so groups of friends and families all over town or all over the country can share in this event at the same time. Be sure to remind everyone that the tour starts at 11 AM in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach History Tours have always made unique and appreciated birthday, anniversary and thank you gifts.
